…Cricket Season 2024 and ECB Clubmark Accreditation Retained!

Saturday, 27th April, 2024 marks the start of the 2024 cricket season. Thanks to Messrs Measor, Mole and Smith, Park Drive is looking fantastic!

With the 2nd XI match away at Maltby Cricket Club having fallen victim to the weather, the 1st XI begin their season at home this afternoon to last year’s NYSD Premier League champions, Saltburn Cricket Club. Stumps pitched at 12.30pm. It should be an excellent opening fixture!

We’d like to wish all captains, players and coaches an enjoyable and successful 2024 cricket season, ie. within both of our senior and junior structures for girls, boys, women and men. You should be proud to represent Hartlepool Cricket Club. We also hope our supporters have an enjoyable season too! If you haven’t yet taken out your membership for 2024, please see a member of the bar staff.

In other news, Hartlepool Cricket Club was advised during the course of the week that it’s retained its ECB Clubmark Accreditation status, when James Simpson, (the ECB’s Safehands and Clubmark Manager), advised as follows in his e-mail of 24th April, 2024, :-

“We are delighted to write and confirm that following a review of the submitted documentation and your current status on the Safe Hands Management System, you have met the requirements set out to retain ECB Clubmark Accreditation. The time and commitment required to effectively run a cricket club cannot be underestimated, we hope that retaining accreditation goes some way to recognising all of the work that those involved in running your club put in. Having a network of safe, welcoming and well organised clubs is vital for the future of the game and retaining Clubmark status shows that you and your volunteers are at the forefront of this.

We will be in touch during 2024 with further information around future accreditation requirements, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please email club.mark@ecb.co.uk.

Finally, we would like to wish you a successful 2024 season and thank you for your engagement and support of the ECB Clubmark scheme”.

A big thank you to all those who work so hard to ensure that Hartlepool Cricket Club retains its Clubmark status, which is extremely important to the running and functioning of the Cricket Club. Special thanks to Kathryn Semple for all of her work in her role of Club Safeguarding Officer.
