On Friday, 9th July, 2021 a “Celebration of Life” is taking place at Hartlepool Cricket Club for Danny Shurmer, who sadly passed away on the 17th June, 2021. The service starts at 1.15pm and is taking place outside. Social distancing requirements will be applied, together with other measures. Those wishing to attend to pay their respects to Danny are advised to arrive early.

Jill, Bill, Pam and family have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for Danny. All family and friends are welcome to attend the service. Following the service, the family will leave briefly for a private service at Hartlepool Crematorium before returning to the Cricket Club for refreshments.

Those attending the “Celebration of Life” are encouraged to wear an item of blue clothing to reflect Danny’s support of his beloved Hartlepool United.

Whilst family flowers only, collection boxes will be available on the day for donations in Danny’s name. Donations will be used to purchase defibrillators for local use. Monies will also be donated to Stray Aid Limited, an animal rescue service.

As a mark of respect, all Junior cricket scheduled for the 9th July has been cancelled.
