…and a Game for All!

Cricket is a fantastic game. It means many things to those different individuals who play, officiate, score and spectate.

Both Committees at Hartlepool Cricket Club, (ie. the General Committee and the Junior Committee), want to ensure that cricket is accessible to all and that cricket is a game for all.

As part of this the General Committee is to create a new post of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, which will cover both the Senior and Junior Sections.

Both Committees have already endorsed the ECB’s Anti-Discrimantion Code. At its Annual General Meeting of 25th January, 2023 the Code was included in the Junior Committee’s Rules. It will be included in the Senior Committee’s Rules at the Annual General Meeting on 6th April, 2023. The Cricket Club’s Inclusion Policy is to be updated in due course.

A copy of the ECB’s Anti-Discrimination Code can be found here : https://resources.ecb.co.uk/ecb/document/2022/03/17/36918e2a-b649-489a-9295-ea3bb6b5d433/ECB_Anti-Discrimination_Code_2022_v5-1-.pdf

All players, members, supporters of cricket at Hartlepool Cricket Club and its employees are encouraged to complete the following anti-discrimination training, which takes about 30 minutes to complete : https://antidiscriminationrecreationalgame.ecb.co.uk/
