The 25th January, 2023 saw the Junior Section of Hartlepool Cricket Club hold its Annual General Meeting.

The Junior Section’s Rules were subject to a couple of minor amendments, with the important Officer role of Vice Chair being established, plus the formal adoption of the ECB’s Anti-Discrimination Code. An updated version of the Rules are attached.

The following Officers were appointed at the “AGM”, :-

David JB Thompson, (Junior Chair), said : “I’d like to thank all those who volunteer their services to the Junior Section of Hartlepool Cricket Club. I’d like to congratulate Kathryn Semple on becoming the Junior Section’s first Vice Chair. Establishing this post was important in terms of succession planning and having an Officer available to deputise. Hopefully, Kathryn will enjoy her new role. Claire Blakey is thanked for her efforts over the last few years as one of our Safeguarding Officers. George Sayers is also thanked for his coaching activities over a number of years. Claire and George have decided to stand down from the Junior Committee. Hopefully, in 2023 there will be a “cross-fertilisation of coaching activities”, with Coaches helping with other age groups. I see this as being important in terms of sharing ideas and Coach development. The Junior Section is always on the look out for parents and carers to assist with coaching activities. The recently publicised Coach Support role is an excellent way for parents and carers to take their first steps in cricket coaching. With the Junior Section hovering around about 190 Junior members, it’s important that new Coaches and support staff are “recruited” to the Junior Section”.
